The Blue Cape Cellars 2012 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills was our first award winning wine, winning a Double Gold medal at the 2014 San Francisco International Wine Competition sponsored by the Tasting Panel Magazine. The wine scored 96 out of 100 points! Since then, we have won awards for every Pinot Noir submitted.  The wine is limited in quantity but still available at Phoenix’s Duck and Decanter,  in Mesa Il Vinaio,  and the Hidden Track Bottle Shop.  Additionally, our wine is featured at Christo’s Ristorante and Alexi’s Grill.  Ask for it!

About Our Label

Winemaker Kim Hartleroad started Blue Cape Cellars to fulfill a longtime goal of making a wine of distinction. The Blue Cape logo honors Kim’s late mother Aletha, who proudly wore a blue cape in her duties as a caring registered nurse.

THE  BLUE CAPE CELLARS
WINE PROJECT

Wine Project comprises boutique wines made by Kim Lee Hartleroad. The wines we produce are from excellent, low yield vineyards in Santa Barbara County, California. The fruit from these vineyards is exceptional. The Pinot Grigio grapes are from the Los Alamos region in Santa Barbara County. Our Pinot Noir to be released in the Spring of 2014. All grapes were sourced from from Santa Rita Hills vineyards. The two clones we use for our Pinot Noir (clone 667 and 777) render a very dark colored, bold tasting Pinot Noir. Barrel samples already show tremendous depth of flavor (see our blog on Pinot Noir Clones).
